2021 Tata Nexon to be Launched Soon!!!

Tata Motors will soon be introducing an all-new DCT or dual-clutch transmission automatic gearbox on models like Nexon subcompact SUV and Altroz premium. The 2021 Tata Nexon has been clicked on camera while testing with an RDE or Real Driving Emission on the roads of Pune. The spy photographs reveal that the test mule was painted in a dual-tone shade of red and white. It is highly likely that this test mule is that of the DCT automatic variant, which is going to hit the showrooms in the year 2021.

The 2021 Tata Nexon DCT will be having a Punch sourced 7-speed DT 1 dual-clutch gearbox. The new unit will be much better than the current AMTs. It will be feasible as compared to the conventional torque converter or DCT gearboxes. The new gearbox of Tata has been designed especially for the compact vehicles which offer torque of up to 200Nm.

The Tata Nexon, at present, comes equipped with two engine options – 1.5L, 4-cylinder Revotorq diesel engine as well as 1.2L, 3-cylinder Revotron turbo petrol. The former one is capable of producing 109bhp of power and 260Nm of torque, while the latter can churn up power worth 119bhp and 170Nm torque. Both the engines come equipped with a 6-speed manual and an AMT gearbox. The all-new DCT variant will be available with the petrol engine. The styling and design of the new DCT variant will be similar to the regular manual model. There will be no alterations in the feature or interior list.

The price of the 2021 Tata Nexon DCT will be around Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.50 lakh higher than the standard counterparts. At present, the automatic and petrol variants are available in Rs 8.44 lakhs-Rs 12.70 Lakhs and Rs 6.99 lakhs and Rs 11.34 lakhs respectively. All these are ex-showroom prices of the models. Once the 2021 Tata Nexon DCT variant gets launched, it will compete with the likes of Hyundai Venue DCT and Kia Sonet DCT.
