Bajaj is one of the largest bike manufacturers in the country and it is one of the highly expected bike launches of 2021.

Pulsar Gets a New 250 cc Engine

Pulsar 250 will be the first Pulsar to have the 250 cc engine. Pulsar had engines of all displacements from 125 cc to 220 cc till date. With the launch of the new 250 cc it becomes the largest Pulsar ever. The new platform will be longer than the Pulsar NS model. Based on the spy images of the Pulsar 250, it seems that the bike comes with a longer body. The sitting position is somewhat similar to the previous models but the general stance looks slightly different.

The new 250 cc engine will not be borrowed from the Dominar 250 cc and it will certainly be more powerful than the Pulsar 220. The sporty looks will certainly woo many bike lovers of the country. It can be safely said that the brand will bring back the attention from competitors like Yamaha and Honda. The engine looks like air and oil cooled instead of the liquid cooled previous models.

The Rear Monoshock Suspension

Pulsar 250 sports a monoshock suspension in the rear that can greatly enhance the ride quality inside the city. The potholes of the city roads should no longer cause a worry for the bike riders. The smooth suspension will give a uniform experience for both the rider and pillion rider.

The front telescopic suspension should do the duty during braking and the rear mono-shock will take care of the work during uneven terrains. While it is not a bike built for off-roading experiences, the Pulsar 250 should handle well for those short trips during weekends.

Digital Instrument Cluster

Pulsar 250 will have a full digital instrument cluster like other recent models. It will also have an easy to use trip meter, odometer and LED headlights. You can also expect a LED DRL for the bike. DRL is a must as per the BS4 & BS6 standards and the new Pulsar will sport a trendy LED light for the same.

Royal Enfield has developed a navigation system that comes with the recent models of the brand but Pulsar 250 will not come with such features. However, it is to be seen whether the Pulsar 250 will have Bluetooth connectivity and charging facilities for mobile phones inbuilt in the model. While these are very minor advancements, these could end up making or breaking the deal for the Bajaj.

Cost & Launch Date of Pulsar 250

Pulsar 250 is expected to be launched on October 28th. With the launch date so close to the Diwali, Pulsar will certainly see many booking during the Diwali festival season in the country. It should cost around 1.5 Lakhs as the competitions price their models in the same range.

Pulsar 250 could boost the falling numbers for the brand. However, when compatriot KTM or other bike manufacturers have targeted the performance bikes and sports bikes segment. What the Bajaj needs now is an influx of models that are powerful and offers a plethora of features for the customers.

Will We Get Bajaj Pulsar 400?

Bajaj Pulsar is a highly successful name for the brand and a new Pulsar 400 cc will definitely augment the sales for the brand. The Dominar 400 created huge expectations among the bike lovers and we are still waiting about the news of the largely hyped Avenger 400. Avenger 400 could compete with the cruisers and create a niche for the company. Avenger 220 and even the lower powered Avenger 160 are largely successful in cities as it provides a feel like god experience for the rider. In the same way the Pulsar 400 with conventional styling and powerful engine could bring back the bold and masculine characteristics of the bike that had made it an instant hit in the early 2000s.
