A new teaser video of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno hatchback has been released on the social media handles of NEXA experience. What is catching the attention of all the Baleno lovers is the tagline-“A Big Surprise Coming Soon.”
This tagline indicates the fact that Maruti Suzuki is soon going to introduce a highly exciting update related to the Baleno hatchback. However, we still do not have any idea about the update can be. As per the speculations, it is highly probable that the Indo-Japanese brand can introduce an all-new special edition Baleno hatchback in order to compete with the new-gen Hyundai i20. We are hoping that the special edition car will get a sporty body and have an upgraded interior.
The new-generation i20 will come with 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol. There is an option of a 1.5 litre diesel engine option as well. Thus, buyers will be getting multiple options. We can expect that Maruti Suzuki can bring back the 1.0 litre Boosterjet petrol engine, which will be in BSVI avatar. The engine is capable of producing 100.5bhp power and 150Nm torque. A 5-speed manual gearbox helps in transmitting power to the front wheels.
Speculations are strong regarding the introduction of a robust, hybrid version of the Baleno hatchback.
The hybrid technology is known as “strong hybrid” technology known as “SHEV 48V.” This full-hybrid system will be more efficient than the original standard model.
The testing of Ertiga and S-Cross with diesel engine is also going on in India. According to the reports, the company can bring back the 1.5 litre diesel engine version as well. Maruti Suzuki India may introduce a special edition Baleno hatchback in order to boost sales during this festive season.
At present, the base model comes with two engine options – an 89bhp, 1.2 litre DualJet petrol with SHVS mild hybrid system. Another one is 82bhp, 1.2 liters naturally aspirated petrol engine. For transmission options, a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic system are there.
