Audi has finally launched the e-tron electric luxury SUV in India on July 22. The e-tron comes in 3 different variants namely e-tron 50, e-tron 55 and e-tron Sportback 55 with starting price of ₹99.99 lakhs, ₹1.16 crores and ₹1.18 crores respectively. Audi provides an astonishing 8 years battery warranty or up to 1.6 Lakh km. The SUV comes with a standard 2 year warranty.
The exact launch date of premium luxury electric cars manufacturer Tesla is still in the lurch, the launch of e-tron by Audi is a welcome change to the premium segment of the market. Tesla CEO Elon Musk is still battling over the high import duty the cars are facing.
Under the Hood
e-tron 50 comes with two separate electric motors for the front and rear wheels. This provide better traction and better power to luxury SUV. It is powered by a 71kW battery that can last up to 370+ km. The overall power of the motors come around 313 bhp and a torque of 540 Nm. It has an impressive time of 6.8 seconds for 0 – 100.
However, that is nothing when compared to the e-tron 55 and the e-tron 55 Sportback which can do the same in just 5.7 seconds. The SUVs are powered by a slightly larger power pack with 95kW capacity. Motors in both the variants provides up to 408 bhp of power and 664 Nm of torque. Even on the distance per charge, the higher variants score better with almost 480+ km of range. The SUVs have a permanent all-wheel drive system that provides power to all the wheels.
Looks & Exterior of Audi e-tron
e-tron comes in 8 different colour options that includes the Blue, Black, Beige, Grey, Silver, White and Red. The e-tron sportback comes with an additional colour option of Plasma Blue that is strikingly stylish. Upholstery of the electric SUV comes with 3 options of Beige, Brown or Black.
On the safety side, Audi e-tron comes with 8 airbags, parking sensors, heads-up display, and Audi’s virtual cockpit that offer better control and safety of the car. It comes with Matrix LED headlamps, air suspension that makes the drive seem smooth and seamless. The dashboard is fully equipped with wireless charger, 30 colour internal ambient lighting, 705 music system that employs 16 speakers of Bang and Olufsen Premium 3D sound system. It also has a 360 camera that can record and store the video feed.
