Citroen, the French automobile company, has recently started the road testing procedure in India. This is the first time that this brand has come up with a model in India. The company has given the codename of C21 to this new model. This compact SUV is the first-ever made-in-India model, and the car lovers are waiting eagerly for this SUV. Hopefully, the French automobile company will be launching this amazing car in 2021, during the festivities.
The company’s new CMP or Common Modular Platform underpins this new vehicle. CMP has been designed, keeping in mind the requirements of the developing automobile market in India. This SUV will also cater to the automobile markets of South America.
The SUV has taken inspiration from the opulent counterparts of the Citroen automobile family. Hence, it will give the riders a feel of luxury. As per the speculations, the vehicle will come with the familiar Citroen grille, two-tier headlamps, contrast black cladding on the sides, and chunky alloy wheels.
Talking the sole power plant of C21, the SUV has got a 1.2 litre turbo petrol engine. Initially, the testing has begun on the Berlingo MPV. It comes with the same engine overseas. As per the sources, this same engine will lock horns with the engines of Maruti Suzuki because it is capable of offering fuel efficiency and refinement.
The French automobile company at present is busy in doing the trial production of the C5 Aircross. According to the reports, the all-new C21 Crossovers will be manufactured at the CK Birla Facility in the Thiruvallur region of Tamil Nadu.
