COVID19- Maruti Suzuki & Hyundai Sales Decreased by 47% & 65%!

The year 2020 started with a boom in the automobile industry. We got to witness tons of projects, concepts, and launches of the cars by various companies. We saw another incredible Auto Expo 2020 and so much more. As the companies were milling around to meet BS6 emission norms at a fast pace, the Corona outbreak got into the tangle. March 2020 has not been a good month for the industries of the automobile. Due to the COVID-19 lockdown, the companies had to go through a lot. But, the good news in. Supreme Court is very much likely to extend the deadline of BS6 emission norms. Due to the extensions, the companies will be able to sell out the BS4 vehicles with ease.

     

The impact of the Coronavirus has highly extensively effected the sales of companies, especially Maruti Suzuki. The company has recently announced the results of its total sales in March 2020. Maruti Suzuki sold around 83,790 cars in the last month, which include 76,976 in the domestic market. And 2,104 sales of domestic OEM. The total record of the Maruti Suzuki is 1,563,297 in the year 2019-2020. Apparently, the sales of the company have witnessed a decline. The sales of the company have been decreased by 47%. Not only the Maruti Suzuki sales, but Hyundai has also witnessed a significant decrease in their sales. The sales of the Hyundai has gone on the decline by 65%.

     

Both companies have already suspended their operations. All of their activities were stopped from 22 March 2020, which has caused them significant loss. Apart from the automobile industry, the Corona outbreak has impacted all kinds of industries and caused them major loss. Once the lockdown gets over, we’ll come to know the exact details and how all companies are going to recover from it.
