As we all know that companies are rushing towards BS6 in order to cope up with the BS6 emission norms. But, due to the corona outbreak, companies had to face a lot of trouble during the process. Some of the companies have already successfully converted their BS4 line ups with the BS6. BS6 emission norms were set to be introduced on 1 April. But due to the rise of coronavirus, FADA reached out to Supreme Court to extend the deadline to 31 May 2020. The pandemic coronavirus is making it really difficult for the dealers to sell out their existing BS4 version.
The president of FADA (Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations), Mr. Ashish Harshraj have said potential customers immediately put a hold on the purchases when something like this comes out of nowhere. He further said, even those customers who have booked the car in advance have also canceled their purchases. The partial lockdowns from the local authorities resulted in forcing plenty of the retailers to shut down their shops, which has affected the business al lot. The situation has been worsened up from the past 4-5 days because of the partial lockdowns in cities.
Most of the dealerships have faced a significant negative impact on their sales because of the corona outbreak. The situation in the country has worsened up, and we have no idea when it is going to stable. With this in mind, the approach of FADA to extend the period of BS6 emission norms is accurate. The deadline, which is approached to end from 31 may 2020, can help the dealerships in order to clear out their BS4 stocks. It is expected that the situation will get under control very soon. Till then, let’s wait and hope it all gets under control, and the automobile industry gets back and become more reliable than ever.
