Ford EcoSport Variant with No Tailgate Spare Wheel!!

Ford India of late has hiked up the prices of models like Aspire and Figo by almost Rs 19,000. The company is also planning to offer an update to the exceedingly popular Ford EcoSport subcompact SUV. As per the reports, the model will be receiving an SE variant. The variant will draw inspiration from its global spec model for its tailgate design. The Chennai-based plant of Ford performs as both international and domestic production hub f0r the EcoSport.

     

The export variant of Ford EcoSport will have a differently designed rear section. At the centre of the tailgate, there will be the number plate. Also, there will be no tailgate mounted spare wheel. This hints towards the fact that the upcoming new variant will be without a factory fitted spare wheel on the tailgate. The model will be equipped with features like tubeless tyres as well as a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). The customers will also get a puncture kit with the upcoming variant.

The new variant will be offered with both petrol and diesel engines. the petrol engine is capable of churning out power worth 121bhp and torque of 149Nm. And the diesel variant is capable of churning out power worth 99bhp and torque of 215Nm. Each if the variants will come equipped with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Top-spec petrol variants will receive a 6-speed automatic transmission gearbox.

     

The compact SUV is available for Rs 7.99 to Rs 11.99 lakhs at present. We can expect the price announcement of the upcoming variant in the next few weeks.
