Government wants all vehicles to get FastTags or Pay double Toll charges

In the current generation, we are living in, technology does play a very important role. In this fast pace moving scenario, nobody has the time to stop and pay for the toll charges.

With technology seeping in from every corner of the room, fast tags have become an important part of everybody’s life who regularly drives long distances.

The government has made a plan to make all the lanes toll free plaza on all the national highways ‘FASTag lanes’ from the 1st of December.

     

After that, all the ‘Non-FastTAG lanes’ users will be charged double amount of fees if they by any chance pass through FASTag-only lanes.

To provide a smooth framework for this entire process, the road and transportation ministry has asked the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to keep a look at all the requirements of

FASTags across the county.

How does Fast-Tag Work?

The fast tags are connected to the prepaid accounts from which the toll number is deducted.

The tag has inserted within the Radio-frequency Identification (RFID) technology. This is affixed on the widescreen of the vehicle once the tag is made active.

     

Benefits of Using a Fast Tag:

There are several benefits of using fast tags, some of the core advantages are:

  1. SMS and E-mail Alerts: A customer who has registered his email id or phone number will receive a notification on all the mediums as and when the traction is mad in his tag account.

    This also helps in bringing security and prohibits any false usage by anybody.

  2. Online Recharge: Customers will have the benefit to recharge their tag accounts online very easily.

    The recharge can be done through credit cards, debit cards, or even net banking.

  3. Saves time and Fuel: Fast-Tag helps in saving a major chunk of time and fuel of the customer. All the customer has to do is to drive normally via the plaza.

    He or she will not even need to stop and the amount will directly be deducted from their plaza accounts.

Where to get fast tags in India?

You can get fast tags from various banks like SBI, HDFC, AXIS, ICICI and Kotak Mahindra etc. They provide you the Fast Tag to their bank account holders .

     

The amount gets deducted from the bank account once the cross any toll throughout India. Many Payment wallets like Paytm and amazon are also offering fast tag services to its users.
