Hyundai Aura v/s Maruti Suzuki Dzire – Quick Comparison Note!

With the compact SUV segment dominating the market, compact sedan segment has been treading closelybehind. Major carmakers have tested the waters with offerings in this segment, Suzuki has outnumbered its rivals successfully and dominates the segment. Today, there are over 20 lakhs owners of Dzire in India. However, Hyundai has again taken the plunge into this market with Hyundai Aura which will go up against Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire. Expected to launch in early 2020, let’s see how it competes to eat a share of the pie.

     

Engine

Hoarded with a BS6 Compliant Engine, Aura comes with 3 options which are – 1.0 litre Turbo GDi petrol motor producing 100 PS and 172 Nm of Torque, 1.2 litre 1.2-litre MPI petrol mill delivering 83 PS and 114 Nm of torque and 1.2-litre Ecotorq diesel powertrain churning out 75 PS and 190 Nm of torque attached to a 5 speed gearbox across all three.

Dzire is powered by a BS6-compliant, 1.2-litre, K12 VVT petrol engine that makes 83 hp and 113 Nm of torque. There is also a BS4-compliant, 1.3-litre, DDiS 190 diesel motor that produces 75 hp and 190 Nm of torque. It comes with 5-speed manual and automatic transmission options.

     

Dimensions

There isn’t a difference between the sizes of the models. Length of both is same, width of Dzire is wider by 1735 mm. Coming to their wheelbase, it is again the same at 2,450 mm. A notable difference in dimensions is in its boot capacity where Aura scores a brownie point as its boot is 402 litres whereas that of Dzire is 378 litre. This can really give Aura an edge as Dzire is preferred for its boot capacity and Aura offering a bigger boot is a remarkable feat in itself.

Features

Hyundai aura holds an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple and Android, digital speedometer, wireless charging , Voice Recognition, Rear AC Vents, Projector headlamps and cooled glove box. For safety, it has:

  • Immobilizer
  • Speed alert system

Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire’s features include heater, steering mounted audio, power outlets, Rear Parking Sensor, Electrically adjustable rear view mirror, front cup holders and climate control. For safety, it has:

  • ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution
  • Brake Assist
  • Engine Immobilizer
  • Headlamp Beam Adjuster

The price of Aura starts at Rs. 5.79 lakhs and that of Dzire starts at Rs. 5.82 lakhs.
