Hyundai Elantra BS6-compliant Diesel Variant Revealed: Specifications out!

It was reported earlier that Hyundai is gearing up to roll out diesel variant of the Hyundai Elantra very soon in the market of India. The company has confirmed the launch of the new diesel variant sedan, and the specification and features are also revealed. The new sedan will be sharing engine form next-gen Honda Creta and KIA Seltos. The petrol variant of the sedan was launched back in 2019, which has received a great response from the customers.

     

Powering the engine of Hyundai Elentra, it will offer 1.5 L engine of diesel, which will be capable enough to produce the same power and torque as in the Hyundai Creta and KIA Seltos. It will deliver 115 PS and 250 NM of peak torque. The transmission duties will be done by the 6 speed manual and the speed automatic gearbox. The company has proffered pre-facelift Elantra with 1.6 L motor of diesel which has the ability to produce 128 PS and 260 NM. Talking about the petrol variant, it will be powered by a 2.0 L BS6-compliant engine which has the ability to produce the 152 PS and the peak torque of 192 Nm. It receives the same transmission options as in the diesel variant.

     

The base model of the car has been discontinued, and now it will only offer the car in two variants- SX and SX(O). Talking about the variant SX, it will offer both automatic and manual options, whereas top-spec model SX(O) will only be provided with the automatic gearbox. In terms of the features of the Hyundai Elantra, the diesel variant will be sharing its equipment with the petrol variant. There will be 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple car play, dual climate control, six airbags, and so much more.
