Jaguar I-Pace, the all-electric vehicle, will be rolled out on March 9, 2021. This is going to be the first-ever EV for the carmaker. Bookings had already been started by the end of 2020.
Battery and electric motor details for I-Pace:
A 90Kwh battery will be powering the all-electric I-Pace. The battery will send power to two electric motors. Together the entire setup can churn up a power worth 400hp and torque of 696Nm. The company claims that the EV is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100kph in just 4.8 seconds. Also, the top speed is around 200kph. On a single charge, the EV can complete a range of almost 470km. Jaguar is bringing in a complementary 5-year service package as well as five years of complete roadside assistance. There will also be the standard warranty (8 years or 1,60,000km).
Variant break-up (2021 Jaguar I-Pace):
There will be three variants of the I-Pace in India – S, SE, as well as the premium HSE. The base spec I-Pace will be equipped with 19-inch, diamond-cut alloy wheels, tail-lights, LED headlamps, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto support, a full-length fixed glass roof, “InControl” connected car technology.
The top-spec HSE will be equipped with more lucrative features like adaptive Matrix LED headlights, adaptive cruise control, Windsor leather sport seats, 825W Meridian sound system, a hands-free boot release, a heads-up display, a 16-speaker, and so on.
There will also be some optional extras for the I-Pace, such as four-zone climate control, an ionising air purifier, adaptive air suspension, digital rear-view mirror, etc.
Charging requirement for the EV:
Jaguar is a tad bit apprehensive about the mediocre charging infrastructure in India and has entered into a promising partnership with Tata Power so as to offer home and office charging facilities to all its I-Pace customers. Tata has already set up an EV charging network across India. There are more than 200 charging stations in this network. These stations are known as EZ Charge. I-Pace customers will be able to access these charging stations conveniently in 23 plus cities across India. Also, a complimentary wall-mounted 7.4Kw AC charger will also be offered by Jaguar with this EV.
Competition:
At present, the Jaguar I-Pace will be rivalling the Mercedes Benz EQC. Once the Audi e-Tron gets rolled out, the competition will get really intense.
