In January 2020, Tata Nexon EV launched in India, and the sales have started since.
Nonetheless, the company now offers subscription options on the electric SUV for those who might not be able to purchase the vehicle. Tata Motors collaborated with Orix to
provide Nexon EV in 5 cities – Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Pune, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru – on a
subscription plan basis. With little obstacles with the registration of vehicles and road taxes, a full digital commitment made the whole thing smooth and straightforward.
The subscription service is tailored and suitable for businesses that prefer leasing, persons with the regular intercity transfer, and foreigners who are, among other things, staying for a longer tenure. Once their subscription is valid, consumers may opt to either extend it or return the car. Additional incentives cover extensive insurance coverage, en-route support on-call, and free maintenance and doorstep shipment.
At the start of each month, a fixed refundable deposit of Rs. 50,000 must be paid and for 18
months, for two and a three-year term of the subscription, for Rs 47,900, Rs. 44,900 and Rs.
41,900 is paid as monthly rent. A cancelation fee will be levied if one returns the car before the expiry of the agreement. Subscribers may also obtain their EV charger that can be mounted at home or in their workplace. When the required documentation has been completed, customers will have to pay a single token of Rs. 5,000, a security deposit of Rs. 45,000, and a monthly subscription fee in advance.
The subscribers are permitted to go up to only 1500 km, after which they will be charged Rs.
7/km. The Nexon EV is capable of fast charging up to 80% within an hour, and also can use a
regular 15A AC charger with a total battery capacity of 8 to 9 hours.
