Renault India is all set with its series production and dealer dispatches meant for the upcoming Kiger compact SUV. The SUV will be rolled out in India a day after Valentine’s day.
All about Renault Kiger:
Finally, after a lot of impediment, Renault is finally entering into the compact SUV segment with the model Kiger. It will compete with multiple brands in the Indian automobile market. There will also be a sister brand to Kiger in the form of Nissan Magnite. Kiger shares the CMF-A platform with the Magnite. Also, both have a similar engine and gearbox options. There will be two engine options – a 1.0L turbo-petrol and a 1.0L naturally aspirated petrol with a 5-speed manual or CVT automatic gearbox and a 5-speed manual or AMT automatic gearbox respectively.
Aggressive pricing strategy of Renault Kiger:
Nissan’s aggressive pricing strategy benefitted the Magnite and attracted lots of customers to the showrooms. Renault is planning the same for Kiger as well. Therefore, it is expected that the Kiger will undercut the present starting price of Magnite, which is Rs 5.49 lakhs. The model will most probably undercut the prices of other major brands as well such as Toyota Urban Cruiser, Ford EcoSport, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue and Mahindra XUV300.
