Maruti Suzuki’s Celerio is one of the most loved family cars in the recent past. With a price tag of ^ lakhs even for the top end variant, Celerio is the perfect car for every family. The 5 seater came in petrol and CNG variants with amazing mileage of over 22 kmpl and almost 30 km/kg respectively.
So, when the Japanese car maker is going to launch the second generation of the car, it is sure that people are going to flock to get their hatchback. Apart from the existing 1L petrol engine, we can also expect a 1.2 Litre petrol engine that already powers the Wagon R. The new engine will provide a maximum of 83 bhp and maximum torque of 113Nm. Both the engines will be mated with a 5 speed manual or automated manual transmission gear boxes.
The upgrades on the interiors and other features are not fully known but it can be expected to have a touchscreen for the infotainment panel and it will also come with Android Auto and Apple Car Play support. Other than the usual finish and polish upgrades, the new Celerio might also come with keyless entry and ignition system. The Second Generation Maruti Celerio will also have power adjustable ORVMs.
Similarly, you can also expect an overhaul in the front and rear of the hatchback. It will have a new set of tail lamps and bumpers. On the front, Celerio is due to get a new bold and stylish grille with a flat and oval shape. The car could even sport a relatively longer wheelbase. While, it is not clear as of now, the early pictures suggest the presence of angular elements on the overall body. It suggests a dimension change and most probably the new Celerio comes with a slightly longer wheel base.
The upgraded headlights, automated OVRMs, bigger grille, new bumper will all make the Celerio look much bulkier and stylish. The car is likely to hit the showrooms in the early September 2021 and we have to wait for more updates on the story.
