Volkswagen is going to launch the 2021 Vento preceding the launch of the new generation Skoda Rapid. The 2021 Vento will be replacing the present model. These C-segment sedans have been underpinned by MQB A0 IN platform. They will be launched after both the German and Czech automakers launch their SUVs in the automobile market. In the case of the compact SUVs, the Skoda Vision IN is going to precede the launch of Volkswagen Taigun.
As per the speculations, both the sedans will be equipped with a 1.0-litre TSI motor and an auto gearbox or 6-speed manual options. Also, their production will be localised in order to keep the entire procedure cost-effective. Bernard Maier, the former global CEO of Skoda Auto, wanted almost 95% of localisation in case of the India 2.0 plan of SAVWIPL or Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited.
It might happen that the huge 1.5-litre turbo petrol motor may not be provided with the Skoda Rapid or 2021 Volkswagen Vento. This conscious decision has been taken keeping in mind the factor of budget and cost-cutting.
