The district administration with Motor Vehicle Department has launched pink vehicles for females to make their commute safer and easier.

You know a country is progressing when it removes social evils like Gender disparity, recognizes the problems of its people and provides solutions.

India seems to be railing on the right track. One of the recent initiative taken by the Rajouri District Administration along with the Motor Vehicle Department was the launch of special pink vehicles for female passengers as a mark of celebration of the International Girl Child Day 2019.

These exclusive vehicles by Mahindra Supro is an attempt towards making a woman’s commute safe and comfortable.

In a survey conducted by Transport Department, it evidently came out that girl students were facing many problems in all ways while commuting due to overcrowded public transport.

This occasion also acted as a platform to spread awareness of the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ campaign.

A total of six eight-seater pink vehicles will play between Old Bus stand to GMC and AH, New stand to GMC and AH and Old Bus stand to Khandli.

It will be available from 8 am to 8:30 om every day. This initiative is believed to be a significant step towards empowerment of the girl child. It was inaugurated by MA Asad, Deputy Commissioner.

It is a proud moment to see that women empowerment is kept as a top priority as it is essential for the progress of the economy as a whole.

We hope to see more and more states taking some inspiration from this and initiating new movements for women empowerment and liberating them from the problems they face.

This initiate is also known as the inception of a strategy of dignified travelling for women. A woman should be able to travel solo anywhere without any qualms about safety or discomfort.

Such movements also need the support and co-operation of the public in making it a success. Females should make the maximum use of this service and families should encourage the women of the house in taking these serviced.

The success of this movement will encourage the government to focus more, keep improvising and alos spread such services to different parts of the country.

Today’s woman is strong, intelligent and determined. Given the right platform and support, their contribution will play a pivotal role in the times to come and achieving that gender balance will give our country the prestigious status of a progressive society and economy.
