The Future of Electric Cars in 2020-2021!!


The electric vehicle market has grown in leaps and bounds in the last few years. All the automobile manufacturers have come up with their Electric vehicle designs for the coming years. Quite a few electric vehicles were also released in India last year, many manufacturers have promised new developments in this sector in the next five years.

     

Maruti is planning to launch its Maruti Suzuki EV. Tata is coming up with Tata Altro EV, and HBX EV, Renault Kwid, will have an electric model, Mahindra is planning to launch Mahindra EKUV100, Ford also is planning to launch an electric version of the Ford Aspire. So here are the future vehicles to look forward to in the year 2020-2021.

Kia entered the Indian market with two vehicles last year the Kia Seltos and Kia Carnival. Kia Soul EV won the World Urban Car 2020 at WCOTY 2020; hence Kia plans to introduce this vehicle in India with a 64kWh battery. It will feature an electric motor with a capacity to deliver up to delivering 204PS and 395Nm and a range of 400Km.

Maruti’s WagonR is expected to make a comeback with an electric variant with the ability to deliver up to 200Km. Multiple reports suggest that it may also support faster charging methods to improve utility.

     

Tata is working on the premium hatchback and Mini-SUV electric vehicle designs for the year 2021; both will feature the Ziptron EV technology with a range of up to 300km.

Tata has confirmed they are ready for the mass production of these two models. Renault showcased its electric car the Renault Kwid EV at this year’s Auto Expo with a 26.8kWh lithium-ion battery having a range of 280Km, and a maximum speed of 105km/h could be an exciting alternative.

It will be interesting to see the various models that will be unveiled in the coming years and how acceptable it is in the Indian market to integrate electric vehicles.
