The Indian Auto market may expect the 5=door version of Jimny Sierra!

Maruti Suzuki is planning to launch the 5-door Jimny Sierra in the Indian automobile market. We had already got a glimpse of the mini off-roader at the Auto Expo 2020. We still do not know about the official release date. Meanwhile, we got to know that Maruti Suzuki will be commencing the manufacturing process of 3-door Jimny for international markets.

The Maruti Suzuki may introduce the 3-door Jimny as a part of the CKD unit the next year. Specific alterations are required in the 5-door version of Jimny Sierra. This will definitely take much time. So speculations are being made that the 5-door Jimny version cannot be launched till the end of 2022.

Jimny Sierra is a tad bit bigger than the standard Jimny. The dimensions of the standard Jimny are – 3395 mm, 1475mm, and 1725mm in length, breadth, and height, respectively. In comparison, the dimensions of the Jimny Sierra are – 3550mm, 1645mm, and 1730mm in length, width, and height, respectively. However, the wheelbase is the same for both models. The new Jimny Sierra is almost 300 to 350 mm longer than the 3-door version of the model. Engineers may try to increase the space inside the cabin by increasing the wheelbase. The appearance of the 5-door Jimny Sierra will be cool and stylish.

As per the reports, the Indian spec, 5-door Jimny Sierra will be equipped with a 1.5 litre, 4-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine. The same engine powers the likes of Ciaz, Vitara Brezza, and Ertiga. The 5-door version of Jimny Sierra may also come with part-time, four-wheel drive with low range. The engine will have the ability to produce 103bhp power and 138Nm of torque. Riders will get the option of both automatic as well as manual versions.
