The J.D. Power 2020 Initial Quality Study (IQS), was released recently. It ranked Hyundai Tucson as the best compact SUV in its initial Study. They conduct the Study to improve the new-vehicle quality by taking insights from customers and making positive changes. It helps to study features that are challenging to use and learn by customers and give a response to the company to improve upon those features; these studies are helping over 90 days of ownership.
Hyundai Tucson was ranked top in its segment, which is a considerable achievement for the Korean manufacturer. Hyundai Veloster earned the top spot in its segment while Accent and Elantra finished at second while Sante Fe came third. Barry Ratzlaff, CEO of Hyundai Motor America, said, “Outperforming the best vehicles in a segment is always a major milestone for Hyundai. These accomplishments are a testament to the entire company’s dedication, including design, engineering, manufacturing, service, field teams, and our dealer partners, to deliver the highest quality vehicles to our customers.” J.D. Power is a global leader in advisory insights and analytics of infotainment, exterior, controls and displays, driving experience. They look at least 223 factors during their ranking process.
Hyundai has become the highest-marked mass-market brand as seven models ranked highest in their segments. Genesis is the top-ranked premium brand for the fourth consecutive year; Genesis is owned by Hyundai and stakes in Kia, which made Hyundai the most successful company in this Study. Hyundai cars ranked highest in their segment are Genesis G70; Hyundai Tucson; Hyundai Veloster; Kia Forte; Kia Sedona; Kia Sorento; and Kia Soul. Hyundai has done exceptionally well over the years and has improved its standard much more than their Japanese counterparts. Japanese automobile manufacturers have struggled to improve their rankings while Hyundai maintains its lead at the top.
