Toyota to Launch its BS6 Compliant Toyota Fortuner Soon!

Toyota Fortuner which has been a leader in its segment ever since it was launched, is all set to undergo an upgrade in compliance with the BS6 emission norms. The company has declared that the new upgraded version of the car will be launched soon. Probably sometime in February-march 2020.

The BS6 emission norms, which will come into effect from April 1, 2020, has compelled many carmakers to upgrade and reinvent their cars. Toyota too has decided to upgrade two of its popular leading cars, Toyota Fortuner and Toyota Innova Crysta to comply with the rules.

Toyota Fortuner would experience a price hike of almost 15-20% (i.e., around 3-5 Lakhs), which would bring its cost to somewhere around 32 Lakh. As the car would require new filters and a revamped exhaust system to reduce emissions, the price hike is inevitable.

The Japanese carmaker currently offers Toyota Fortuner in two engine options 2.7-liter 4-cylinder petrol and a 2.8-liter 4-cylinder diesel. Considering the high demand for diesel engines in the Indian market, the company has decided to continue making diesel vehicles by upgrading them as per the BS6 norms.

However, the exact details of the engine and other changes that the car may undergo are yet to be revealed by the Company
