The all New VW Group’s T-Cross Launch:

The Volkswagen Group is all set to showcase its all-time favourite product i.e. T-Cross and Kamiq SUV’s from its core Indian business plan at the 2020 Auto Expo which will be held in Delhi.

There are speculations that the New-Gen Skoda VW cars are in their planning stage to offer a CNG powertrain to all its upcoming cars.

This move came after analysing the Europe market where all the MQB A0 based cars give a CNG offer of 1.0 Litre TSI turbo petrol to its customers.

In the current scenario, it is very important to keep the environment aspect of Mind. With increased globalization, the resources have been depleting massively.

The usage of CNG helps in decreasing the CO2 emissions by almost 25% and NOx emissions by up to almost 75% which does clear a major chunk of pollutants from the air we breathe.

As per proper research and analyses, CNG is also considered far much more efficient than petrol, diesel and LPG.

The energy which is generated by a kg of CNG equals to 2 litres of LPG, 1.3 Litres of diesel and 1.5 Litres of petrol.

CNG the New Engine to be introduced Soon:

The VW Groups new car comes with a 1.0-litre TGI Engine which produces 90PS of power at the maximum.

This range will be in between 4500rpm and 5800 rpm. The engine produces a torque of 160Nm at 1900-3500rpm at the maximum.

However, the thought of Introducing the CNG cars in India is still at a very initial and budding stage and does require a lot more things to be considered before committing anything.

The VW Groups says that before offering the CNG engine in India, it is pondering a little about the entire CNG Infrastructure in the country as well as the fuel image.

Introducing CNG does come with a few a hiccups:

In India, the CNG car is considered to be low premium cars and very budget-friendly. The entire network of CNG is not very strong in the country when compared to petrol or diesel pumps availability.

For VW Group to introduce the CNG Engine, the country needs to have enough CNG stations so that there can never be a shortage of the infrastructure.

It is speculated that all the cars from 2020 auto expo will try and launch at least a 1.0 litre CNG engine for a test run as an option.

However, VW Group is all to launch the T-Cross and the car might become the only SUV in its particular segment to offer a CNG engine to its customers.

The group no doubt is putting a lot of focus and efforts into introducing the CNG engine and ditching the 1.5 Litre TDI Engine.

It is only waiting for the BSVI emission norms to kick off anytime. Speculations say that they will start from April 2020 right around the auto expo time.

CNG will no doubt if introduced in all the cars, will be seen as a big boon to the entire country.
