With regard to the BS6 emission norms 2020, Royal Enfield is going to launch the BS6 compliant version of its highly acclaimed 350cc bikes soon. This includes the BS6 Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X. We can expect it to hit the Indian showrooms by the middle of 2020.
Lately, there was news of a testing of the 2020Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X. We noticed lots of changes in it. One can easily notice the revised styling in the motorcycle. 2018 was the year when the American company launched the Royal Enfield Thunderbird Series. It has certain premium features which make it extremely popular among the bike lovers. At that time, the price was about INR 1.63 lakhs.
Specifications of BS6 Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X:
- The bike will receive fuel injection keeping in mind the BS6 emission norms of April 2020.
- Engine: BS6 compliant, 346cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine.
- 5-speed transmission by the engine.
- New Gateway orange colour
- 5-speed gearbox will be available.
- The motorcycle will underpin the double-cradle chassis.
- There may be a dual-channel anti-lock braking system or ABS.
The earlier BS4 version of the bike can generate a peak torque of 28Nm at the rate of 4000rpm. While the maximum power is 19.8HP at the rate of 5.250 rpm. Further, the motorcycle features several mechanical as well as cosmetic changes. The company has made alterations in the fuel tank, single pod instrument and headlamp design.
Expected price of BS6 Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X:
The price tag can be anywhere between 1.80 lakh to 1.85 lakh. It is a bit expensive but hopefully, the bike lovers will not deter because of the cost involved.
500cc variant:
This variant is at present available with the company under the Classic, Bullet and Thunderbird series. But the sales record of the 500 CC motorcycles has not been very favourable for the company. So, converting it into the BS6 variant is not at all an economic option. According to the recent reports, the US-based company will discontinue all the 500 cc range of bikes from the Indian market, before the implementation of the latest emission norms in India.
Launch date of BS6 Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X:
Earlier, Royal Enfield decided to launch the BS6 compliant version of the bike in India in January in New Year 2020. However, according to the latest reports, there has been a delay in the launch dates. Bike lovers may have to wait until the middle of the year 2020 for the bike to hit the showrooms.
So all those ardent bike lovers who are eagerly waiting for the launch and are a bit nervous regarding the BS6 emission norms, they can chill and wait till mid-2020. The glamorous BS6 Royal Enfield 2020 is on its way to the Indian Markets and going to hit the road super soon.
