Maruti Suzuki Ciaz which is one of the most popular C-segment ciaz sedans in India, has completed its five years in the car market of India. Maruti has sold over 2.7 lakhs units of Ciaz till this year.
Ciaz was launched in the year of 2014, and it currently holds the 30 per cent market share in the sedan segment.
On top of all, this Ciaz has been the leader of this segment for three consecutive fiscal years that is 2016-17, 2017-18, and 2018-19. According to Maruti confirmed that the top-end model of ciaz has contributed to over 54 per cent of the total sale of the.
Maruti Ciaz attained a facelift
The executive director of the Marketing and Sales of Maruti Suzuki stated that since the day ciaz was launched, it has witnessed success in the sedan market, which is highly competitive.
In August last year, Maruti Suzuki launched a model of ciaz which was the facelifted version. This new version came with a 1.5 litre K15 Smart Hybrid petrol engine, has a lithium-ion battery and has replaced the 1.4-litre petrol engine. Then after some time, Maruti Suzuki launched a diesel version of Ciaz, which replaced the 1.3-litre DDIS motor

Despite the fact that Ciaz has been the leading player in the segment of sedan cars in the past, but since last year the sales gap which was there between rivals and the CIaz has reduced extensively.
All this has happened despite Ciaz undergoing a facelift in the year of August 2018. This year since April both the sedan Honda city and the Hyundai Verna have been in equal stance or either has crossed in terms of sales in comparison with ciaz.
Moreover, the Ciaz car’s year on year sale has taken a major hit in the past few months, and Maruti has witnessed a decline of 77 per cent sales in the month of August 2019. This year till august Maruti has sold only 1,596 units against the number of 7002, which was the number of units sold till august 2018.

Despite all this, Maruti’s ciaz still is one of the best Sedan and the value for money product in the sedan segment. Ciaz offers a capable engine comes with premium features and has several safety features that live up to the standard.
Ciaz has safety features like dual front airbags, has high-speed warning alert, comes with ABS and EBD as standard has ISOFIX child restraint system.
The current price of Ciaz is 8.19 lakh to ₹ 11.38 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
