New Mercedes Benz SL Test Mule Spotted!!

According to the latest spy photos taken in Germany, Mercedes-Benz has initiated testing the new-gen SL on public roads. While we don’t expect the model to make its debut until mid-2021, such new photos hint at a production-ready model.

The next-generation Mercedes-Benz SL, as seen in the spy pictures, features production-ready headlamps, tail lights, square quad-tip exhausts, front splitters, new grilles, door-mounted ORVMs, two separate sets of front and rear alloy wheels, as well as what appears to be a duck-tail spoiler. Although a hard-top version is likely to be the test mule, we may also expect a soft-top model.

At this point, information about the interiors of the new Mercedes-Benz SL are scarce, although the model may be offered from the AMG department with a variety of powertrain choices, from the SL43 guise to the SL73 guise. In the form of a 4.0-litre V8 engine, the latter could get firepower, supported by electric motors on each axle.

A Pan-American grille, 20-inch dual five-speak wheels, a red-coloured convertible soft-top, and an integrated rear spoiler are included in the upcoming production-ready Mercedes-Benz SL. There are quad-tip exhausts still on sale.

Mercedes-Benz will not yet disclose the engine specifications of the new SL, but we anticipate a number of choices ranging from the SL43 guise to the SL73 edition, the latter of which, with the aid of a collection of electric motors, could breathe through a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 motor. Sometime later this year, we expect the German marquee to take out the model covers. For updates, stay tuned.
