According to the official announcement by BMW, the unveiling of an M-badged performance model is on the cards this year. We still have not got any confirmation as to which electric model will be getting the M derivative.
The similarity of BMW M to the M340i
It can be safe to assume that the i4 M will be an “M-lite” model as compared to the M3 and M4. The model is not going to be the full-fledged M product. The standard i4 will be revealed in the upcoming months. The sale in global markets will be starting at the end of 2021. Way back in 2019, BMW gave the confirmation that the Tesla Model 3 rival will be equipped with a 530hp powertrain. This engine is capable of accelerating the speed from 0 to 100kph in just 4 seconds. The top speed will be around 201kph. The company also promised a range of 595 km.
BMW iX to get M performance model
Rumours are also doing the rounds that the M performance version of the electric Ix is in the pipeline as well. We still do not have intricate details regarding the model as the official information has not yet been shared. M has successfully boosted the automobile market sales, which had slowed down because of the pandemic situation. About 1,44,218 models got sold. This sale has definitely been 6% more than in the year 2019.
