The first-ever official sketches of the upcoming Kushaq have been revealed by Skoda Auto The mid-size SUV has been developed on the MQB A0 IN platform. The Kushaq is the first out of four models which are to be manufactured locally under the vigilance of the India 2.0 project. The SUV comes with a broad signature grille as well as sharply designed two-part projector headlamps. There will also be an angular bumper with large air intakes and a rugged skid plate.
From the second sketch, we come to the conclusion that the rear section will sport a rugged rear diffuser in the bumper as well as an elongated roof spoiler. The taillamps come with Skoda’s trademark crystalline structures. Also, there will be Skoda lettering on the tailgate. The mid-size SUV will carry features such as body cladding, stylish alloy wheels, etc., and all these make the SUV sportier. The 2671mm long wheelbase offers ample cabin space inside the Kushaq.
The Skoda SUV has chrome and dark plastic as well as brushed aluminum in the interiors. The 12.3-inch infotainment system is highly attractive. One can also expect a dual-zone climate control system in the SUV. Kushaq will most probably come with a multi-functional steering wheel, a digital instrumental console, a panoramic sunroof, and a connected car technology.
The SUV will come equipped with two turbocharged TSI petrol engines. The 1.0 litre, 3-cylinder motor will be churning power worth 110-bhp, and the 1.5 litre, 4 cylinders one will be churning power worth 150bhp. Both the engines will be paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. For the 1.0 litre petrol variants, there will be a 6-speed torque converter. On the other hand, for the 1.5 litre petrol models, there will be a 7-speed DSG automatic.
