Tata Motors trademarked 3 uber-cool names – Taureo, Spyk and Epiq!

Lately, trademarking of three Tata Motors models has been done – Spyk, Taureo and Epiq. There is still uncertainty regarding which name will be applied to which model. Tata Motors aims at having the widest SUV range in the Indian automobile market, including Hornbill, Gravitas or a middle-sized SUV called Blackbird. It is being speculated that the company may use one of these trademarked names for the Tata Blackbird SUV, which is gearing up for the production process. After launch, the SUV will lock horns with models like Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.

Tata Motors has an upcoming MPV lined up for production. It has been developed on the Alfa platform. If we are to go by the speculations, then Tata may also use one of these registered names to name this model. The all-new Tata MPV will get similar engines as compared to Nexon subcompact SUV. There will be a 1.5 litre diesel or petrol engine. This model will compete against Kia, Hyundai and MG, as well as the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.

Tata Motors is also planning to come up with a mid-size, Alfa platform-based sedan. It will use the same architecture for the new-generation Tata Nexon, Tigor and Tiago. Each model will have a specific set of alterations in the exterior as well as the interior. Tata is planning to come up with electric vehicles such as Altroz EV, Blackbird EV and HBX EV. One of the earmarked names can be used for these EVs. These electronic vehicles will be available for Rs 8 lakh onwards.

Tata Motors has recently launched the new Altroz XM+ as well. It will cost you around Rs 6.60 lakh. Thus, it is about Rs 30,000 more expensive than the XM variant. There are four variants XZ, XZ+, XT and XT+. The prices range Rs 17.85 lakh, Rs 19.10 lakh, Rs 16.50 lakh, and Rs 17.30 lakh respectively.
