Volkswagen New Hatchback launch in India 2020 | Volkswagen Golf GTI

There is a treat for all the Performance car enthusiasts, especially the ones who have a thing for hot hatches as Volkswagen is all set to evaluate the possibility of introducing the Golf GTI in India.

According to various sources, the model will be bought in India as a CBU (Completely Built Unit) which follows the relaxation rules of imports by the government. 

     

As per the latest norms, a carmaker can import 2,500 units per year, they can be imported either as a CBU or CKD without the models having to undergo homologation.

Although there are speculations that Volkswagen’s Golf GTI if launched in the country, will be available in very limited numbers.

The entire scenario will be very similar to the previous launch of Volkswagen’s VW GT which was launched with limited numbers and was priced at around 40 lakhs. 

     

Volkswagen Golf GTI’S Design:

The Volkswagen’s Golf GTI comes under the category of hot hatch segment internationally. The model offers a premium combination of usability, durability and performance.

The model will be an eighth-gen model which was recently spotted testing. It is expected to come with a more premium design, more power and tech, and a reduction of weight of the car. The car will come up with better design features such as: 

     

1. The front and the rear bumpers will be revoked with very large air intakes.

2. The wheels will be chunkier, sharper and larger as compared to the previous model. 

3. The breaks will be modified and will be larger. 

4. The model will be equipped with rear spoilers.

5. The model will also come up with a dual- exhaust. 

Volkswagen Golf GTI’S Design Price:

Although Volkswagen has not yet disclosed the price of Volkswagen’s Golf GTI, the price is estimated to be costing between Rs 40 Lakhs to 45 Lakhs. (introductory, ex-showroom India).

     

The lowest model costing for about 40 Lakhs and the highest model which will be offering various features will be costing for about 45 Lakhs on road. However, the price depends on the state and the type of model.

Volkswagen Golf GTI’S Design Engine

The model will come up with a revised version of the current model’s 2.0-litre turbo which will put out the 255hp (+15hp) standards model and 290hp (+45hp) for a more powerful TCR which will be successful in replacing the current Performance GTI in international markets.
